Acorn Enterprises is the Development Corporation for the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians. Acorn Enterprises is a for-profit corporation federally chartered under Section 17 of the Indian Reorganization Act. The corporation is wholly owned by the Shingle Springs Band of Miwok Indians, as the sole shareholder. The business affairs of the Development Corporation are managed exclusively by an independent Board of Directors.

The development corporation’s current focus is on the retail, commercial real estate, and recreation and leisure sectors.

Business Objectives:

  • Strengthen Policies and Procedures and Develop a Corporate Governance Program

  • Capitalize on Acorn Enterprises’ Federally Chartered Section 17 Status

  • Expand the Commercial Real Estate Portfolio by at Least Six More Properties Within the Next 12 Months

  • Develop a Master Plan for the 13-Acres Within the Next 12-Months

  • Invest in Profitable Turn-Key Businesses

  • Distribute a Significant Financial Contribution to all Voting Tribal Members Within the Next 5-Years

  • Generate More Money Than the Casino

  • Invest Excess Cash Currently Available
